Hi, I’m Nash.

Natasha 'Nash' Hill conceived the Australian Drag King Community Awards. To her, it is a celebration of all aspects of the king community and King Craft. It is also a personal thank you to the drag king art form for all that it has given and enabled her to do.

Natasha has a broad eclectic career across the entertainment industry. Before enrolling at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts, she was a cast member of Hetrosoc'ed Youth Pact Theatre for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival in 1998. After graduating with a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in Technical Production, she went on to become a professional stage manager working with numerous companies. Some career highlights include Cabaret, the musical IMG, Berlin & Ever After Ever Sydney Dance Company, Gulpilli & Page 8 Company B and Living Museum of fetishised identities Performance Space. Natasha spent a decade as a stage manager at Sydney Opera House, where she worked on over 200 productions. She also worked in event production for three parades for Sydney Mardi Gras.

Nash, as she is mostly known by in the queer world, stumbled onto the Drag King stage - accidentally - in 2004. From there she went on to perform on many stages including ARQ, Sly Fox and Mardi Gras Parties. After being awarded DIVA's Sydney's Favourite Drag King in 2006, her drag king character picked up a pen and began writing a recurring column for the Sydney Star Observer publication. Never one to sit still for long, Nash produced shows specifically for Drag Kings and the king community outside of the club and pub circuit from 2010. This included shows at The Red Rattler, The Vanguard and The Cabaret Room at the Imperial Hotel. In 2015, due to failing health, Nash stepped away from the spotlight and retired, along with her Drag King character Hans Sparrow.

In 2026, Nash was fortunate to be selected by LOTL to create the Drag King Corner. It is a place where she gets to share her love of the Drag King world via interviews with Australian Drag King Community authors, producers, artists and performers. She has created a new Drag King character, Dragos and has other projects in development.

It was a challenging and arduous journey in the intervening years between 2015- 2026 for Nash. Yet her love of the Drag King art form and theatre always kept her close to those fields. She is learning to embrace her disabilities and chronic illnesses positively. She is over the moon to be able to bring her various projects to life with the support of the community and her chosen family.

Nash would like to thank Silke Bader of LOTL and the LOTL Lounge for bringing the Australian Drag King Community Awards into reality.
