Australian Community Drag King Awards

1. About the Awards

The Australian Drag King Community Awards are presented by LOTL Lounge and are designed to recognise excellence, creativity, community contribution and cultural impact within Australia's Drag King community.

By submitting a nomination, participating in voting, or attending the Awards, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility

Nominees must:

  • Be based in Australia or have made a significant contribution to Australian Drag King culture during the eligibility period.

  • Meet the criteria outlined for the relevant award category.

  • Be willing to provide supporting information if requested.

  • Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values of inclusion, diversity and respect promoted by the Awards.

LOTL Lounge reserves the right to determine eligibility.

3. Nominations

  • Nominations may be submitted by members of the public, organisations, venues, producers, performers or community groups.

  • Self-nominations are permitted.

  • Multiple nominations may be received for the same individual, venue or event.

  • Nomination does not guarantee selection as a finalist.

  • Nominations containing false, misleading or defamatory information may be removed.

4. Judging Process

  • All eligible nominations will be reviewed by the judging panel.

  • Judges may consider supporting material provided with nominations.

  • Judges may seek additional information where required.

  • The judging panel reserves the right to move nominations between categories if considered more appropriate.

  • The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding judging outcomes.

5. Finalists

  • Finalists will be selected by the judging panel.

  • Finalists may be required to provide photographs, biographies, media assets or additional information for promotional purposes.

  • LOTL Lounge reserves the right to remove a finalist if information provided is found to be inaccurate or misleading.

6. Voting

Where public voting applies:

  • Voting is limited to one vote per person per category.

  • Voting periods will be published on the Awards website.

  • LOTL Lounge reserves the right to verify votes.

  • Any attempt to manipulate voting, including the use of bots, fake accounts, multiple email addresses or other fraudulent activity, may result in votes being removed or a nominee being disqualified.

  • LOTL Lounge reserves the right to suspend or cancel voting if irregular activity is detected.

7. Award Categories

The Awards reserve the right to:

  • Amend category descriptions.

  • Merge categories.

  • Remove categories.

  • Introduce additional categories.

  • Change voting methodologies where necessary.

Any changes will be published on the Awards website.

8. Promotional Use

By submitting a nomination or accepting finalist status, nominees grant LOTL Lounge permission to:

  • Publish names, biographies and approved photographs.

  • Use submitted materials for promotion of the Awards.

  • Feature nominees and finalists across LOTL Lounge podcasts, websites, newsletters, social media and related promotional channels.

Ownership of submitted materials remains with the creator unless otherwise agreed.

9. Privacy

Personal information collected through nominations, voting and ticket purchases will be used solely for the administration and promotion of the Awards.

Information will not be sold to third parties.

Participants may receive communications relating to the Awards, LOTL Lounge and associated event information.

10. Awards Night

  • Ticket holders must comply with venue conditions of entry.

  • LOTL Lounge reserves the right to alter event details, venue, schedule or programming where required.

  • Refunds and cancellations will be managed in accordance with the published ticketing policy.

11. Code of Conduct

The Australian Drag King Community Awards are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Harassment, discrimination, bullying, threatening behaviour or conduct that undermines the safety of participants, attendees, judges or staff may result in removal from the Awards process or event.

12. Right to Amend

LOTL Lounge reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.

Any updates will be published on the official Awards website.
