Rainbow Flag on Skifield at GaySkiWeekAfter monitoring the current state of COVID, the board of AspenOUT has decided to alter its programming for Aspen Gay Ski Week, the oldest annual gay ski event in the nation – held January 17 to 24, 2021.

“This decision has not come without much thought and consideration, but the safety of our patrons and team members is of utmost importance,” said Kevin McManamon, Executive Director of AspenOUT.

For its 44th year, Aspen Gay Ski Week will be presented with the following changes, based on current state and county restrictions:

  •      The opening reception, Belly Up events, Downhill Competition, Top of the Mountain Party, and Pool Party will not be held in 2021 – with plans to come back even better for 2022
  •       Enhanced and smaller versions of après-ski events, as well as other possible activities, including Drag Queen Bingo, piano bar happy hour and comedy, are currently in development.
  •       Discounted hotel rooms, lift ticket packages, and rentals will still be offered over the dates of Aspen Gay Ski Week.

“We realize that the comfort level of travelling during this time is a personal decision, and we would like to offer those who are inclined to do so the opportunity to enjoy the perks of being an Aspen Gay Ski Week participant,” commented McManamon.
