Feast Festival Parade

The annual Feast Festival has attracted record crowds for its opening.

Feast Festival, Adelaide’s annual Queer Cultural Festival which celebrates its 16th year in 2012, opened on Saturday night with around 2,500 forming in the much-‐loved Pride March. A cavalcade of motorbikes lead the parade, complete with the brand new Pop Up Production heritage yellow school bus, from Victoria Square to the ANZ Hub in Light Square.

More than 3,000 people flocked to Light Square to party the night away with artists from around the country including pop megastar Melissa Tkautz and glam rock duo the Divine Knights.

Adelaide Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood was seen enjoying the parade with his young son and Gouger St diners were treated to the dynamic and colourful March, which saw the street closures for the event.

Feast Creative Producer, Kerry Ireland said, “I couldn’t be more thrilled with the level of support Adelaide has shown this year. Pride March was bigger than ever filling the length of Gouger Street, not to mention the crowds of spectators encouraging us along the way!”
