Mind Australia Limited has opened a dedicated and specialist LGBTI mental health and wellbeing centre.
The Mind Equality Centre is operating next door to the Northside Clinic in North Fitzroy, which is well-renowned for its great work with the LGBTI community.
The centre provides:
- Psychological therapy and counselling for individuals and couples
- Family relationship counselling
- Occupational therapy
- Sex therapy
- Legal services
- Employment services
- Social activity groups (including cultural, creative and sporting activities)
The staff at the centre have been specially chosen for their identification with the community and their depth of experience working with LGBTI people.
Medicare bulk billing is available to patients with a mental health treatment plan and a referral from a GP or other clinician. Fees are also available for rebates through many private health insurance funds.
