This is the first time that interracial couple emojis have been offered.

In celebration of Love, Focus Features announced earlier this month that the new LOVE-MOJI App had launched. The app allows users to use interracial couple emojis for the first time.

Husband and wife Richard and Mildred Loving inspired the groundbreaking new app. Nearly fifty years ago, they showed us that love is more vital than hate and has the power to spark fundamental changes.

Users can use the new keyboard extension on text, email, and social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. While same-sex couples and individuals of different races have been represented as emojis, interracial couples and families have not made their debut as emojis until now.

Teaming up with Twitter, Focus is celebrating interracial couples by using the hashtag #VoteLoving, #ThisisLoving, or #LovingMovie will automatically populate an interracial emoji that represents Mildred and Richard Loving.

In addition, during the election season, Focus is encouraging everyone to show that simply conveying love can change the world one state at a time. Each day leading up to the election, LOVING’s social pages share a story from each state about ordinary Americans conveying love and helping to better the world’s condition.
