Lesbians with breast cancer: Are your voices heard?A PhD student is seeking interviews with lesbians who have had breast cancer to assist in her research paper.

Speaking with LOTL, Alexandra Gibson commented: “amongst other diverse groups of women, I’m looking for same-sex attracted women who have/have had breast cancer to participate in interviews for a PhD project in Psychology at the University of Queensland.

“I’m really interested in hearing your stories about your experiences of breast cancer, and what you found helpful or difficult.  I hope to identify factors that help same-sex attracted women, and any concerns or difficulties that you would like addressed.  I’ll be creating a booklet of diverse women’s stories, to provide a resource for other women to help them through breast cancer. “

Gibson says interviews will be conducted over the phone and will last about 60 minutes.
