Celebrating the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQ Community

Our A-Gender is an exciting, innovative exhibition staged by Boomalli Aboriginal Art, at their Leichhardt gallery, in partnership with ACON Aboriginal Project to celebrate Mardi Gras.

ACON and Boomalli are committed to supporting and celebrating the diversity and immense talent that is within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities.

“This exhibition is an opportunity for Aboriginal artists in the LBGTI community to creatively discuss the things that matter to us, from marriage equality to cultural identity,” says curator and emerging artist, Jasmine Sarin.

Our A-Gender creatively discusses gender equality, marriage equality, health, social and political issues in the realm of cultural identity.
