Feast Festival 2016 ParadeCalling all budding artists, aspiring graphic designers, and community arts groups!

This year, Feast Festival is bringing back a community favourite – The Poster Competition!

Feast is inviting budding artists, aspiring graphic designers, and members of community arts groups to enter into the 2016 Festival Poster Competition. The winning entrant will have their artwork incorporated into a poster for Feast Festival 2016.

The winner of the competition will also receive a cash prize provided by SAEMSH, a Feast partner, of $800 as well as an opportunity to have paid work with Feast Festival on other marketing and promotional material throughout the year.

The runner-up will receive a $300 cash prize.

Feast General Manager Cassandra Liebeknecht said, “Feast wants to increase its engagement with the community in 2016, and the poster competition is a great and fun way to do that.”

This year, there will be three different themes to choose from. Each one will be interpreted differently by the artists.

  • Express Yourself
  • Fight For Your Rights
  • Celebrate Love

This allows artists to have a broader scope to work with so their imaginations can run wild.

Liebeknecht added, “The poster design creates the overall visual of the Festival, that’s why we have opened it up to the community so they can assist in making this important decision.”

The winning prize will be awarded to the individual whose poster portrays an innovative approach to the Festival theme and complies with the entry requirements. Judging will be completed by the Feast Festival Principal Partner, the Arts South Australia Executive Director, the Feast Festival Chair of the Board, the Feast Festival General Manager, the Feast Festival 2016 Artistic Ambassador and a Feast Festival Patron.

The winner will be announced in July at an exhibition displaying all entries to the competition. More details will be released in the upcoming months.

Entries must be received by 5 pm on 24 June 2016.
