Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association Inc (SGLBA)  is working with Barclays Bank to launch the Business Mentoring Program which sponsored by the financial institution.

“It is an amazing opportunity for SGLBA to be associated with an organisation the calibre of Barclays and we greatly value their sponsorship of this initiative. We believe there is great potential to harness untapped skills and knowledge from within the broader community and to share that among people who are keen to develop themselves,”  commented Mark Haines, SGLBA President.

The SGLBA Barclays Business Mentoring Program will run in cycles. First potential mentors and mentees register their interest on the SGLBA website where they will be matched on the basis of a number of selection criteria. The mentors and mentees are then provided with professional training on how to develop successful mentoring relationships before being introduced to each other and the scheme’s success will be measured via follow-up sessions and surveys.

The launch of the program will be held on the 18th of April at The ArtHouse Hotel. The event is tied in with Fruits and Suits and offering guests free entry between 6pm – 7:30pm, complimentary champagne and gourmet canapes.  The launch will be followed by Fruits in Suits until 9pm.
