NYC Pride has announced its lineup for the annual NYC Pride Rally, on Friday, June 26 on Hudson River Park’s Pier 26.

The landmark annual LGBT event has its roots in the Stonewall Riots in 1969, when

500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park, followed by a candlelight vigil in Sheridan Square. NYC Pride continues this proudtradition by hosting the NYC Pride Rally each year to kick off NYC Pride Weekend in New York City.

The Rally is the voice of NYC Pride’s events, and this year’s voice is going to be great,”said Rally Director Bret Gaither. “Our speakers and entertainers represent many facetsof our LGBTQ community, and each is making significant contributions towardscompleting our dreams of visibility, equality, and liberation.”

The roster of talent this year is full of star power: Broadway veteran Tituss Burgess  (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt)will lead an incredible line-up of talent and speakersat the kick-off to NYC Pride Weekend in New York City. The lineup of speakers and entertainers scheduled to join Burgess on Pier 26 include:

– 2015 NYC Pride Grand Marshals Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Derek Jacobi, J.Christopher Neal, and Kasha Jacqueline Nabagesera

– Brooke Guinan, FDNY’s first and only out transgender firefighter

– GlenndaTestone, Executive Director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual &

– Transgender Community Center

– Tiq Milan, Senior Media Strategist of National News at GLAAD

– Recording artist and NYC nightlife personality Dina Delicious.

– Motivational speaker Spencer West

– Comedian Emma Willmann, and many more!

The Rally begins at 7 p.m. on Pier 26 and is free for all ages.
