IDAHOT: A worldwide celebration of gender and sexual diversities

17 May is the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT). This year, LGBTIQ groups have been working together to ‘shine the light’ on the message that there is no place in Western Sydney  for homophobia or transphobia.

You are invited to join the LGBTIQ community for a Picnic in the Park  at Regatta Park, River Road, Emu Plains, 11am to 3pm. Everyone is welcome, including friends and families, for a FREE barbeque and picnic. There is also a play area for the kids, photobooth, and story telling.

Sponsored by Penrith City Council, the event will include local artists Sheryl Scharkie, LayDeeKinMee, and Jye Bryant and Friends

This event aims to shine a light on the need for young Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Intersex people to be able to grow up in safe and welcoming environments, without fear of harassment, bullying or discrimination.
