We wait all year long for the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade

It’s almost that time!

We wait all year long for the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade, an event primarily organised by the GLBTQ community that welcomes the participation of all people that support our values, hopes and aspirations. The Parade celebrates the culture, lives, hopes and achievements of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people and the community.

One of the best parts about Mardi Gras season is the parade. It’s a platform for GLBTQ people to celebrate the diversity in our world and visibly express their humour, creativity, political opinions and fabulousness. All GLBTQ people and organisations are invited to create entries and send a message to the world.

The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade is currently the world’s largest nighttime Parade of its kind. It is a theatrical display that makes people laugh, cry, applaud and understand. Each year, the Parade brings hundreds of entries together as an experience for the hundreds of thousands of people watching on the streets and in the media.

Are you interested in being part of it all? NMG has recently released a new kit and revamped guidelines for those interested in participating.

Expressions of interest are open from now to mid-January. So dust off those gold corsets and get cracking!
