Join Queer Screen for this special Pride fundraiser.
Join Queer Screen for a special Pride fundraiser for Australian Marriage Equality. A selection of great short films from around the world will be screened, including a new Australian short film made through Kino Sydney.
A highlight is the remarkable A Legacy of Devotion: How A Love Story Triumphed in Court by New York Times video journalist Samantha Stark. This moving and inspiring documentary tells the love story behind last June's landmark Supreme Court ruling that made marriage equality legal throughout the United States.
Making History, a film commissioned by Gaze International Film Festival in Dublin to capture the historic Irish marriage referendum, and is directed by excellent documentary filmmaker Anna Rogers.
From Australia comes The Bower Effect, a delightful film about Gosford Anglican Minister Rod Bower, the man behind what is likely to be Australia's most famous church sign. When the Minister put up a message of support for same-sex marriage in 2013 it dragged the congregation into the national spotlight.
