On Friday 5 February 2016, a panel of prominent will debate the future of LGBTIQ families in Australia as part of the 2016 Midsumma Festival.

Expert speakers include Penny Wong, Labour Senator and leader of the Opposition in the Senate.

Dr. Ruth McNair, a general practitioner, co-chair of the Victorian LGBTI Health and Human Services Working Group, chair of the Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia, and a founding member of the Rainbow Families Council and the Australian Lesbian Medical Associate.

Rodney Chiang-Cruise, an activist, lawyer and campaigner, and co-founder of Gay Dads Australia surrogacy group.

Jacqui Tomlins, an author and creator of OUTspoken Families: A Resource Kit for Rainbow Families, and a member of the Health and Human Services Working Group.

These expert speakers will discuss current and future LGBTIQ family issues from political, legal, health and community perspectives, followed by a Q&A.
