Thy Neighbor's Wife by Georgia BeersWithout either of them knowing they start to fall in love, and the fear of the “What If?’ starts to rise within their hearts

Thy Neighbor’s Wife is a story of two women who fell in love unexpectedly when destiny brings them together. Jennifer Wainwright and her husband Eric buy a house by the lake with the intent to make it their summer home. There, Jennifer quickly connects with her neighbor Alex Foster, an ex-teacher and writer. Their friendship builds quickly as they feel comfortable in each other’s company. As Jennifer’s husband is always out of town due to work, she starts to spend more time with Alex, joining her volleyball team as a setter.

Jennifer starts to get suspicious of Eric, as she believes he’s sleeping around and confesses this concern to Alex, who is unaware her neighbour has developed feelings for her. Without either of them knowing they start to fall in love, and the fear of the ‘What If?’ starts to rise within their hearts.

This is a beautiful story about love and friendship, presenting a realistic point of view on falling in love with a ‘straight’ woman. Georgia Beers creates heartwarming characters in Alex and Jennifer, the two bringing a smile to my face as I kept the pages turning. The insecurities the characters showed felt as real as knowing them in person. Alex doubts Jennifer’s love for her; she feared she was only an experiment. Jennifer isn’t sure if she’s doing the right thing being with Alex.

Once you read this book, you will not only cherish it, but you will want to read it over and over again. Thy Neighbor’s Wife holds a special place in my heart; I have lost count how many times I have read this magnificent book. Give this book a try – you won’t be disappointed.
