The Sydney Film Festival ReturnsSydney Film Festival is returning this June, bringing the worlds best films to town!

For those who have never been, the Sydney Film Festival is an annual event that runs through June, drawing international and local attention to showcase films across a range of venues throughout Sydney. The festival includes features, documentaries, short films, animations and retrospectives picked from all over the world. In the spirit of friendly competition, there are a range of awards and prizes that the entered films can win. As well and two audience choice categories, there is a range of awards that celebrate the talents and stunning work of those involved.

From Wednesday 7 June to Sunday 18 June 2017, the 64th Sydney Film Festival brings the world’s best new films to town for 12 days and nights of inspiring and entertaining premieres, talks, parties, international director and actor guests and more.

Sydney Film Festival Director Nashen Moodley says, “2017 promises to be another spectacular year for Sydney Film Festival. Audiences will immerse themselves in 12 days of film, both world class features and stunning documentaries from the four corners of the globe and plucked from the most prestigious film festivals on the international circuit including Cannes, Sundance and Berlinale.”

More than 250 films from all over the world will be screened alongside a public program of free and ticketed talks and parties, focused on enriching the Festival experience. Over 150 festival guests including directors, actors and industry professionals will attend the Festival from around the world and Australia.

The Festival takes place across Greater Sydney: at the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown, Skyline Drive-In Blacktown, Art Gallery of NSW, Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne, Casula Powerhouse, the Festival Hub at Sydney Town Hall and SFF Outdoor Screen in Pitt Street Mall.
