Small dog dressed up for dog show It’s that time of year again when the folk at Daylesford welcome the nation’s LGBT community with open arms!

Are you ready to get your boot scoot on?

There are only FOUR weeks til ChillOut! Australia’s largest country Queer Pride event! Yeee-har! You can grab a pocket-sized ChillOut bible whilst you’re out and about in Melbourne town at all good friendly outlets, around the region.

Early Bird specials for some festival events will be available only to the end of February so get planning with your friends and book, book, book those tickets so you don’t miss out on a fabulous weekend in Daylesford.

For those feeling like a bit of horsing around in the country, Gourmet Horse Trail Rides is definitely one saddle up for! Smell that country air and take in picturesque scenery, view the rolling hills, ride through beautiful forest and finish up with a glass of local wine and tasty local produce – surely you would throw my leg over a horse for all of that!

Maybe if being on all fours isn’t for you, then join The Nomads for a scenic morning bushwalk through Hepburn Forest or check out the Women’s AFL tournament in downtown Trentham. The all-girl AFL teams will be battling it out for the inaugural ChillOut Cup.
We’re loving the laughs this year as the Convent turns into a Comedy Club for 2 nights only with some of our fave gay comedians Joel Creasey (FOX FM, The Circle. Warehouse Comedy), Geraldine Hickey (Problems, The Librarians) and be amazed by Australia’s #1 female magician & mentalist, Cath Jamison at The LOL Big Gay Comedy Night.

Now if you after the Street Parade, you will be zapping up to Carnival Day. Rocking it out from the main stage – An Hour of Joy – JOY 94.9 will be hosting a quiz show, then an unforgettable experience of African music and dance from Asanti, then its time to rock and roll with Cash Savage and the Last Drinks followed by Stereogamous, it’s like monogamous, but way more sexually amplified and honest, with glitter! But that is not all there will be random marchers, Red Brigade, a public art sculpture you can join in and help create with Public Mischief, there is clogging, rides, pop by CAN and have your pic taken in their photo booth, DJ Windup will be playing in the Chai tent, Shirley Billing The Ukulele Lady will be plucking some tunes, there will be local food and wine, retail therapy and of course Carnival Day wouldn’t be the same without our Dolly Diamond and Luke Gallagher.
