Sparkkes Feast The female-founded and led for purpose alcohol company Sparkke is supporting the 2020 Feast Festival with a partnership that includes the release of a limited-edition Feast beer.

Sparkke, which creates award-winning booze for everyone, wanted to support Feast Festival after the extraordinary circumstances of 2020. Just like many other not-for-profit organisations, Adelaide’s LGBTIQ+ arts and cultural festival has felt the impact of COVID 19.

Sparkke will release a limited-edition beer “Feasts’ Pridevember” donating $1 from every pint sold at Feast Picnic in the Park. Feasts’ Pridevember kegs will also be offered to participating Feast venues, where $1 per pint or equivalent will be donated.

Sparkke Co-Founder Kari Allen said as social activists, they wanted to support Feast which is a major player in the festival scene in South Australia. “Inclusivity and social equity are at the core of our identity. Feast is Adelaide’s LGBTIQ+ arts and cultural festival. An institution. A treasure. A bright spot in the annual calendar,” she said.

Kari added that as COVID has run amok across the planet, losses have been profound. Just like many other beloved arts organisations, Feast has felt its impact. “When we discovered what was happening to this bright, exuberant celebration of culture and diversity, we wanted to help,” continued Kari.

One of their major fundraising events in the lead up to the November festival, the annual Quiz night, was cancelled because of restrictions imposed by COVID-19. The event generates vital income for the festival and brings the LGBTIQ+ communities together in a safe and joyful environment.

Kari said, “We didn’t want to sponsor another Zoom based event – yawn, sigh, snore… you’re on mute – but we did want to get meta-physical to truly share the love, and help to share the load. And we hope you do too. So, we’re inviting people to help Feast by partying in, partying at home, partying in small groups, partying while socially distanced.”

Feast Festival CEO & General Manager Helen Sheldon said, “We are thrilled to have Sparkke’s Pridevember beer promoting Feast’s message that November is a month-long celebration of diversity and inclusivity.”

Feast is an international event, bringing performers from all over the world, such as 2014 Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, adult film star and trans activist Buck Angel, Olympic Diver Matthew Mitcham, 90’s dance icon Dannii Minogue and many more, attracting visitors from far and near.

Sparkke at the Whitmore will also provide free venue hire for participating artists. It will also host the official afterparty for Picnic in the Park and have a bar at Carnival opening night and Picnic in the Park, donating part-takings to the festival. The Feast community will receive 10 percent off the Sparkke range online with 10% of profits from these sales going towards putting on this year’s Feast Festival.

By making a donation to Feast, you are making a difference for LGBTIQ+ communities in Adelaide and Australia. You can donate as little or as much as you like, every bit helps.

Feast Festival will be held from Saturday 7 November to Friday 29 November at Victoria Square and participating venues.

“What are you waiting for – we want to hear your body talk as you place your order and help ensure Feast Festival will be celebrated this November,” Kari concluded.
