For the first time ever Opera will be at the Vanguard in what truly will be a very intimite experience.

For the first time ever and for five nights only, The Vanguard will bring its very own spectacular version of opera to the stage complete with costumes inspired by the late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen.

Making up the show’s ensemble will be four seasoned Opera Australia performers including Warren Fisher as the flower merchant, Katie Stenzel as lady-face, Agnes Sarkis as the witch and Simon Halligan as the warrior king.

Audiences can expect a collection of opera classics such as Nessun Dorma, E’ la solita storia del pastore and those from Carmen, alongside original costumes designed to represent the grandeur and spectacle that is opera.

Owner of The Vanguard Russall S. Beattie said “It’s been a long desire for us to bring opera to The Vanguard stage. This production is designed to not only make opera affordable, but also offer audiences an unusually up-close and intimate opera experience. We’re confident Opera at The Vanguard will satisfy both the seasoned opera patron and those new to the genre.”
