Little Wise grabs our attention as she shakes off her folk past and lets loose on her new album Want it All.

Sophie Klein, songwriter of Little Wise says of this new album, “I began a process of letting loose, freeing myself from my quiet bed-sit folk paradigms. I picked up a Danelectro electric guitar and haven’t put it down since.

With my last album Silver Birch I presented my most raw and soul-baring material to date, telling the story of losing my mum to cancer. It was cathartic to make that album and people really resonated with the songs. But after that, it was time to shake things up a little bit and add some more fun, carefree material to my catalogue.”

Recorded at The Aviary Studios in Melbourne with producers Fraser Montgomery and Nick Edin, Want it All traverses a classic pop-rock sonic landscape. The key track ‘It Doesn’t Work Like That’ is a powerful, tight and direct number.

These songs are shorter and sharper, weaving hook-laden mantras to shrug off self-doubt and inner demons with a rising tide of guitar and back bone of a bouncing bass drum.

Over the past few years and in support of her debut album ‘Silver Birch’ she has performed at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and showcased in New York City.

She has also toured widely back home in Australia, with festival appearances at Nannup, Tamworth, Mount Beauty, St Kilda Live ’n Local and more. She has supported the likes of Frazey Ford (CAN), The Audreys and Dan Parsons.

Whether owning the stage solo or cutting loose with Rosie Burgess (bass) and Pam Zaharias (drums), her music fuses Indie, Folk-Rock and vintage sound with a damn good dose of Melbourne swagger.
