same sex wedding expoThe wedding industry is about to get bigger with the launch of the first LGBTI wedding expo after the country’s marriage equality law came into effect.

The wedding industry is big business and it’s about to get bigger with the launch of the first LGBTI wedding expo next month in Sydney after the country’s marriage equality law came into effect last month. Ever After Expo’s LGBTI wedding expo is set to bridge the gap in the market by hosting its first-ever event in Sydney, which will provide an opportunity to link LGBTI with local businesses that might cater for their future wedding.

Founder, Monique Annetts said, “the event will be the first of its kind and a chance for the entire LGBTI community to connect and celebrate with LGBTI-friendly businesses.”

To date, traditional wedding fairs have been targeted only to heterosexual couples, but since the changes in recent laws with same-sex marriage, wedding expos can now cater for a much wider community.

“People in the LGBTI community attend traditional wedding fairs all the time but often leave feeling disappointed because it’s catered only to heterosexual couples. We want to change that. The expo will give members an accepting, supportive and welcoming space to plan their very special day.”
