Feast Festival 2015The City of Adelaide will be showered with the glitter of queer art and culture.

There are only 6 days left until Feast festival bursts open with the best of international and local queer art and culture.

A plethora of special events is lined up this year—including Feast Favourites; Opening Night Street Party and Picnic in the Park. There will be dancing, singing and Adelaide’s best party vibes. If you thought the spectacular ended there—you’d be wrong.

Conchita Wurst’s arrival is now imminent and she will be performing in the nearly sold-out Art of Drag: A Night with Conchita, a showcase of local and national drag talent, a Guinness World Record attempt for Largest Drag Queen Stage Show and the star herself serenading the crowd with her melodic voice. Add to that Conchita’s intimate discussion and book signing of her biography Being Conchita—Adeladeians and Eurovision fans will be spoilt for choice.

But wait, there’s more! Feast wouldn’t be the same without a free, family fun day event. Behold Queer Station, a Sunday sesh that caters to every family member and to top off the Feast Festival special event goodness—we are bringing back the infamous—Dolphin Disco Cruise!

Opening Night Street Party –Saturday 14 November 6 PM – George Street

A Laneway street party that will envelop George Street in the West End of Adelaide, which is to be hosted by Best Cabaret Adelaide Fringe Award winner, Yana Alana. You can expect that this will be one hell of a party with performances from the Xfactor’s Barry Conrad, Adelaide icon Quentin Kenihan, AUSLAN interpreter extraordinaire Lorraine Butler and local superstar DJ Josh.

The Art of Drag –A Night With Conchita—Sunday 15 November 6:30 PM—George Street

The Austrian bearded lady and drag queen phenomenon wowed the world in 2014 when she won the Eurovision contest with entrant song ‘Rise like a Phoenix. Conchita will be joined by Adelaide icon Vonni to host this special event that promises to be feather filled and fabulous. This will be Conchita’s very first time performing live in Australia and will feature a fantastic lineup of local and interstate drag artists.

BEING CONCHITA BOOK SIGNING – TUESDAY 17TH NOV 4:30 PM – THE FEAST LOUNGE

ABC radio presenter and Sunday Mail columnist Peter Goers will join Conchita for an intimate conversation and readings from her new book Being Conchita: We Are Unstoppable, followed by a personal signing of the book. $60 (includes signed copy of the book)

QUEER STATION – SUNDAY 22ND NOV 11 AM – STATION PLACE, HINDMARSH ADELAIDE

A chilled out and relaxing Sunday sesh at Station Place. Filled with food vendors, fashion stalls, a dog show, face painting, kids entertainment and a fashion parade hosted by The Lord Mayor and Barbara Windsor Woo. Throughout the day be enchanted by the musical talents of The Bec Gollan Trio, Mel Pier, Suzie Craig and Mark Simpkin of the Moss Group. A day for the whole family – you’ll wish every Sunday could be like this.

THE DOLPHIN DISCO CRUISE – FRIDAY 27TH NOV 6 PM – QUEENS WHARF, COMMERCIAL ROAD, PORT ADELAIDE

Last year this event was a total sell-out so we’re back with an even bigger boat! Dress up, drag up, bring a warm fur coat (faux of course!) and then it’s anchors away for the campest cruise since Florence Henderson did a guest spot on the love boat. Drinks, DJ’s and special performances always make this a Feast favourite. Supported by Port Adelaide Enfield Council. $45 (with return bus transfers) Meet at the Feast Lounge, Lion Arts Centre Courtyard $35 (no bus)

PICNIC IN THE PARK – SUN 29TH NOV 11 AM – PINKY FLAT CNR WAR MEMORIAL DRIVE AND MONTEFIORE ROAD

Bring a picnic rug and come celebrate the last day of the Feast Festival in the leafy surrounds of Pinky Flat on the banks of the River Torrens/Karrawirra Parri. This family-friendly frolic is always one of Feast’s most popular events and this year sees the return of all your favourites including the Feast Dog Show, a tug of war with the Metropolitan Fire Service, DJ’s from Hit 107 as well as gourmet food vans and great South Aussie wine, cider and beer. $10
