The launch of DocLIST is assisting women in the LGBTIQ communities to find online doctor services that cater to gender diversity.

The Australian Lesbian Medical Association has created a wonderful, new resource for lesbian, bisexual and queer women on the DocLIST website.

The new Links section is a table of over 600 national and state-based groups, organizations, services and other resources which may be of interest to lesbian, bisexual and queer women. Examples include community events, health services, counselling and support services, social groups, sporting groups, artistic organisations, young people’s groups and organisations from which people can get information about legal and human rights issues.

DocLIST and Links have been set up to assist women within the LGBTIQ communities, however many of the organisations listed in Links provide services to gay and bisexual men as well as gender diverse people.

Links have been set up as a searchable table – you can search it using the search box, or by using the categories.  It is possible to search by state, by category, or by both at once.  Multiple categories and states can be selected at once.  There are brief descriptions about each organisation, and hyperlinks to each organisation’s website in the table.

If appropriate, please let your members, staff, or other interested people know about the new DocLIST Links resource. You could do this in your next email, newsletter, website edit or post an update on your social media site.  DocLIST Links puts a huge variety of organisations and resources at the fingertips of lesbian, bisexual and queer women and we would be very grateful if you are able to help promote it to this group of women.

Please also email us if your organisation is NOT listed on DocLIST Links and you would like to be listed, or if for any reason you wish your entry to be removed from the table.  We contacted many of you recently requesting your organisation’s logo for inclusion in Links, however, we have decided to leave logos out to keep the table as simple as possible.

We believe that all, or almost all, the organisations listed in Links are currently operating.  If you have information about any organisations in the Links table that are no longer operating we would be grateful if you would notify us via [email protected]

Finally, we would like to remind your organisation that DocLIST is an online list of doctors and mental health professionals recommended by lesbian and bisexual women.  It is a national resource administered by the Australian Lesbian Medical Association.  DocLIST has been online since 2010 and continues to grow thanks to recommendations by lesbian and bisexual women.
