Set to release her debut album Clash of The Substance on Friday, 10 February,  Hope D announces a national tour.

Famed for her undeniably jubilant and unruly live show, the Clash Of The Substance album tour will kick off on Friday, 24 March, in Melbourne and, travel to Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, and finish in her hometown of Brisbane on Thursday, 6 April.

Hope D won’t be held responsible for decisions made under the influence of hormones, heartbreak, alcohol and the other intoxicants which go to war in the arena of her debut LP, Clash Of The Substance. Armed with painful honesty, her guitar and a dangerously low balance on her debit card, the queer coming-of-age soundtrack cements her as one of Australia’s most refreshing new voices.   Clash Of The Substance will be available digitally and on vinyl on February 10, with an exclusive pre-sale of purple and teal marble limited edition vinyl and exclusive merch bundles available to pre-order now via SoundMerch.

Produced by Aidan Hogg and mastered by Joe La Porta, Clash of the Substance features the tempestuous new single Senseless, the instant earworm Emerald, the infectious Hate Goodbyes and the intoxicating Happy Hangover. 

In the past year, Hope D performed a national headline tour, took the stage at Groovin The Moo, BIGSOUND, Falls Festival and The Zoo’s 30th Birthday Party, and will perform at Party in the Paddock this February.

Introducing herself in late 2019 with her debut single Swim, Hope D captivated audiences with her eclectic capability to create purposeful, confessional and enthralling music. This release led her to take home the inaugural Queensland Music Awards Emerging Artist Of The Year, performances at Splendour In The Grass, Laneway Festival and King Street Crawl.

The beginning of 2020 saw her release an aptly titled second single named Second and follow-up tracks Common Denominator and Miscommunicate, wowing and surprising fans with her change in sound but maintaining the same inviting charm and razor-sharp wit through her authentically honest, raw and relatable songs. Hope ended 2020 by winning the prestigious Carol Lloyd Award, an initiative to address the gender imbalance in music and support an emerging female-identifying or non-binary singer-songwriter.

Hope’s single Second landed #69 in triple j’s Hottest 100 for 2020. Off the back of her debut EP Cash Only, Hope took off on a sold-out national tour playing 19 shows in three weeks in March 2021.  The single Addict received a complete addition to triple j and landed the #195 spot in triple j’s Hottest 200 for 2021. Hope was widely praised for her cover of Britney Spears’ Toxic she performed for Like A Version last year and was acclaimed by the likes of NME, Tone Deaf, Music Feeds, Purple Sneakers and Pilerats.
