Filmmaker Heather Tobin produces new lesbian film, I Met You First

She’s back!! The Canadian heartthrob lesbian filmmaker that has brought you such captivating titles like To Each Her Own and Route of Acceptance has returned for another instalment of her talents on the big screen.

Heather Tobin, along with her production company To Each Her Own Films are in the process of creating another work of magic called I Met You First.

Recently, Tobin hit acclaim in the lesbian cinema world when After Ellen rated her film Route of Acceptance one of the top lesbian/bi films of 2014.

This Canadian native is no stranger to queer filmmaking.

Her first feature was a documentary that profiles same-sex marriage in Canada entitled I DO, which had its world premiere at the New York International Independent Film Festival. Several feature films later and we arrive at I Met You First.

I Met You First is a dramedy about the strenuous lengths a person will take to find their one true love. Psychology major Charlie has that tendency to fall fast and hard for the wrong type of woman, which we ALL have done before and can relate to (get those U-Haul keys, ladies!).

When she is finally fed up with being heartbroken she decides to make a change in her dating habits and refuses to fall for the next woman who bats her eyes at her.

In a world where online dating has become the way to fall in love, Charlie must decide between several women she deems worthy.

I Met You First lets us ask the questions of: Can we be in love with more than one person at a time? Does fate actually exist? I for one am interested to see how this all pans out for our lesbian protagonist.
