Friday, January 17, 2014 St Kilda Town Hall – 6pm

Pride March Victoria will officially launch this year’s March on Friday at St Kilda Town Hall as part of annual Pride March, to be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 – along St Kilda’s famous Fitzroy the 19th Street.
Big Brother 2012 winner Ben Norris will MC the launch event – attended by Carlton footballer – Brock McLean (Athlete Ally Representative*) and Yarra Glen footballer Jason Ball — both whom made news headlines at last year’s Pride March by participating in the march (Ball as the first openly gay Victorian footballer and McLean in support of his sister).
The success of the 2013 march has re-ignited interest in the inspiring events – President Matt Renwick expects crowds upwards of 30,000 on the day, with over 5,000 courageous marchers, he says, “The great thing about Pride March is that anyone and everyone can take part. It is a true all-of-community organisation and reflects the diversity of our society”.
Pride March Victoria recognises and celebrates the people and events that inspire the courage, solidarity, pride, diversity and strong sense of community of Victoria's gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) people. The organisation of cultural activities celebrates a brighter future and engages the community in a safe and positive environment.
“Pride March is an event that has become a key date on Victoria's cultural calendar, as well as a destination for interstate and international visitors – and it will be back bigger and better this year” said Renwick.
