Stand Up Events is challenging discrimination against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community in sport.

Since its launch last year, Angie Green’s calls for support have not gone unanswered. Along with a growing list of organisations, there have been 28 committed sporting and celebrity ambassadors signing up to support Stand Up Events inaugural fundraising and awareness event, Move in May.

Taking place around Melbourne’s Botanical Gardens Tan Track on Sunday 22 May, Move In May is a 4km or 8km walk or run.

Move In May will not only raise funds to support the activation of positive educational and equality programs in community clubs, but will also send the important message that there is no place for discrimination against the LGBTIQ community in sport or society.

Greene said, “We know that inequality exists within our Australian sporting culture. Move in May is about coming together and demonstrating the significant amount of support that exists in our community for the important message of equality.”
