Spanish artist extraordinaore Gary Fernandez comes to Sydney

Known for his stunning mural works, Gary Fernandez will arrive in Sydney for a special exhibition.

Spanish artist Gary Fernández  is one of the most exciting illustrators in the world at the moment. Hailing from Madrid, Fernández is bringing his anticipated collection titled “Southern Wilderness” to Sydney for an exclusive exhibition in September.

His client list is amazing, ranging from fashion icons Dolce and Gabbana to advertising heavies DDB, McCann Erickson, JWT and Grey to super brands such as Coca Cola and Nokia. His illustrations have graced countless magazines around the world and have appeared in numerous books.   Fernández has recently published a book called “Introduction to Fantastic Girls, Future Landscapes & The Most Beautiful Birds Ever Seen”. He transforms the environment, taking the beauty of the world as we know it, nature, birds and femininity, and creates the scene into something magical.

“My work is about exploring ideas, and imagery and giving them life. It's about thinking how something could be with a twist. It's about extrapolating meanings and seeing what happens.”

Massive murals by Fernández can be seen throughout the streets of New York City. He will be painting his signature mural at Friends of Leon Gallery during the week leading up to exhibition.

This exhibition features an exclusive limited run of his works, some original pieces and beautiful sculptures. His exhibition opens in Sydney at Friends of Leon Gallery on Thursday the 20th of September from 6-8pm. (82 Marlborough Street Surry Hills 2010) Exhibition runs until the 14th of October.
