Mayumi International and Sydney Fringe Festival take over the Tap Gallery this month for an exhibition of cutting edge Japanese art, Kawaii Girls & Pussy Portraits
The concept behind this particular exhibition is “Kawaii (cute) Girls & Pussy Portrait”, and to quote the explanation of one of the artists themselves, these really are works with a “playful heart”.
Like fine cuisine, art requires an essential “flavour” that is unique to the artist, a characteristic which is completely individual - and the works in Kawaii Girls and Pussy Portraits reveals some very individual work.
For this exhibition Mayumi has curated work from some of the most exciting illustrators and artists from Japan that are delivering cutting edge work and creating new artistic trends. More than 70 art works will be exhibited by 30 professional Japanese artists.
