Queer Film Gets Spiffy At MIFF
Global film authorities Adrian Wootton and Wendall Thomas are hitting the Melbourne International Film Festival to talk queer film.
The Melbourne International Film Festival is back again, and alongside its usual pick of choice films, it will also be featuring a series of talks and seminars by acclaimed Hollywood-based script developer Wendall Thomas, and London-based film culture tsar Adrian Wootton.
Wootton will host a string of lectures about the Golden Age of Hollywood, with focus on four actresses, including queer icons Judy Garland and Lauren Bacall.
Thomas’ seminars are a must for any budding screenwriter. Having worked with Disney, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Universal, Showtime, PBS, A&E, and NBC (to name a few,) Thomas is bringing her script expertise to four day-long scriptwriting seminars. One of these seminars will also include a scene-by-scene breakdown of Oscar-winning queer film, Moonlight and a discussion of its success.
The lectures are $15 a pop, the seminars are $90, and spaces are limited, so secure your spot quick. Head to MIFF's website for info and tickets.
