The annual iconic Bake Off will be moving from October to August to align with the new Midwinta Festival.

The Midwinta Festival  will run from July – August 2014.
DT’s Pub in Richmond will host the annual Pride March Bake Off fundraiser, where your skills in the kitchen could see you crowned as the baking king or queen of Melbourne.
There have been some glorious and elaborate cakes in the past, so the bar has been set high. So grab yourself an apron, whip out the food colouring and beat those eggs!
The competition is sure to be fierce.
We understand that not everyone is fluent with their fondant or inspired by icing, but don’t let that stop you form competing. There will be a separate section for those who wish to complete the easy way, by purchasing their cake!
If baking isn’t your scene, then come along to the auction from 4.30pm for your chance to take home a show-stopping dessert. All cakes competing in the competition will be auctioned off, with all funds raised going towards the running of Pride march in 2015.
With a judging panel consisting of Andrew Prior, MasterChef contestant and operator Queenies Food Tours, the daring Sexy Galexy and Midsumma darling Kaye Sera, it’s sure to be a great Saturday afternoon!

These lucky judges will taste test, smell test, poke and prod entries to determine the winning entries in the following categories.

1. Best novelty cake
2. Best home made cake
3. Best store bought cake
Following the judging, the much loved Drag King Sexy Galexy of Manliness: The Angle of My Dangle fame, and local icon Kaye Sera, of the infamous and much missed Kaye Sera’s BiZARRE and annual host of the Australian Same-Sex Dancesport Championships will emcee the charity auction where all Bake Off entries will be up for grabs to the highest bidder! Andrew Prior will be on hand to offer commentary throughout the auction on all entries also.
So whether you passion is baking or eating cake, be sure to come along and support this much-loved community event.
