The sixth annual GLOBE Community Awards co hosted by Geraldine Hickey

GLOBE (the Gay & Lesbian Organisation of Business & Enterprise) has announced the winners of its annual LBGTI business awards, which recognises outstanding achievements in the Victorian community.

The Awards ceremony was held on Friday 11 October at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne. The gala event, hosted by comedians Nath Valvo and Geraldine Hickey, showcased contributions to the Victorian LGBTI community from a diverse range of organisations and individuals. The night celebrated eleven award winners across industries including sports and media to arts and health.

GLOBE President, Dan de Rochefort, said: “We are incredibly proud of our GLOBE Community Awards winners for 2019. Celebrating and recognising the achievements and dedicated work of the LGBTI community is at the heart of what we do. We are especially thankful for all of our nominees, sponsors, attendees and members who have helped us put the night on, we couldn’t do it without them.

“We congratulate Dr Judy Tang, the winner of GLOBE’s 2019 LGBTI Person of the Year, for her outstanding contributions to our community and are excited to continue following her incredible journey. Judy has been an integral part of the LGBTI community through her role as President of the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council, having held this position since 2016,” de Rochefort added.

Protecting our Community presented by the City of Melbourne:  Switchboard Victoria

Connecting our Community presented by Optus:  Minus18

A Healthy Community presented by VicHealth:  Dr. Catherine Barrett
