The Alice Springs Pride Carnivale is returning for another year. Opening on the first day of spring, Thursday 1 September, performers, visitors and artists from throughout the Northern Territory and all over Australia are expected to converge on Alice Springs.

To kick off the festival will open with the Art Exhibition at Yubu Napa Gallery. Gallery owner Ric Farmer said, “It will be great to see everyone’s creativity on display.”

On the schedule for the second day are workshops and a community forum that will focus on “Inclusivity In the workplace, school & community ~ Celebrate diversity!” Thought provoking and informative, the keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Stephen Kelly a lecturer in Sociology from CDU in Darwin.

On Saturday 3 September, the popular Fair Day will take place at Snow Kenna Park. CAAMA Radio will be broadcasting outside from 11 AM to 3PM.

This alcohol-free family event will include stage acts, stalls, food, entertainment, camp dog show and much more.  Headlining this year will be Warren H Williams and Pixie Jenkins. Other local talent will include Circosis, Desert Tramp, Justin Fenwick and Camille Bernardino.

Fanny Waterfalls, Organising Committee member, said, “I look forward to Fair Day and attend each year. I have a passion for fashion and love to dress up. I especially love Fashions on the Field, it’s so fun to see my faerie friends and family in all their finery. My favourite frock came from the free clothes swap.”

The festival will end with a queer short film festival followed by cabaret acts by local, Top End and interstate performers including Destiny Haz, Dreamtime Divas, and Gabby Dever at Watch This Space Gallery.
