Living Room Theatre Co. Presents ‘Boston Marriage’
This Melbourne based independent theatre is in need of support.
Melbourne based independent theatre Living Room Theatre Co. is teaming up with Director Kerry Armstrong to bring Boston Marriage to the stage in September.
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet, Boston Marriage tells the story of the reunion between Anna and Claire, two women living in the late Victorian area that were once lovers.
This timely, witty and exceptionally clever play explores female experience and identity, restriction and same-sex attracted female relationships at the turn of the 20th century. Negotiation, conflict, compromise and reconciliation are inevitable in this play that traverses relationships at their grittiest.
Living Room Theatre Co. production of Boston Marriage will premiere at a Victorian terrace located in East Melbourne in August.
While the space is fitting for the era, it also provides a unique and intimate experience for the audience where they can feel totally immersed in the world of these women.
However, to make this performance a reality the theatre company needs support.
Production costs include play rights, venue hire, set design, seating construction, props, lighting hire, costume hire, marketing and a small fee for the artists and director. To make this possible, the company has set up a page on the Australian Cultural Fund to collect donations.
