Queer And Disabled: Dating Apps And Discussing Disability

The four women discuss if they've used dating apps and how the experience went.

Published:

Annie Segarra, Rachel Anne, Robyn Lambird and Erin E come from the US, Canada, and Australia. All four identify as queer and disabled and have produced a new video series on YouTube to discuss questions about identifying as queer and having a disability.

In the series, questions about the intersections of identifying as queer and having a disability are discussed. Accessibility, representation, fetishisation, and de-sexualisation, as well as different ways to approach dating someone with a disability, will also be discussed throughout the series.

In part 3, the women answer the questions:

“Have you used dating apps? If so, how did it go?"

“In dating, when do you think is an appropriate time to discuss your disability?”
