SFF teasers released
Take a sneak peek at some of the films just announced as part of the Sydney Film Festival program, which runs in June.
There’s plenty that's of interest for queer girls (and their dates) this year.
We can’t wait to watch All About Love, a romantic comedy from Hong Kong that’s about bisexual Macy (Sandra Ng), a free-spirited lawyer who reignites a relationship with Anita (Vivian Chow) when they meet at pre-natal yoga class - both of them accidentally pregnant from incidental affairs.
Also on our short list is Black Venus, a film from France chronicling the last five years in the life of Saartjie Baartman, the 'Hottentot Venus' of South Africa, whose ample proportions were exploited first in an early nineteenth century London freakshow act, then in debauched Paris salons and finally as biological specimens to illustrate then-prevalent racial theories.
We also can’t wait for Miranda July’s latest offering The Future, a film set in Los Angeles that’s as peculiar and endearing as her debut film, Me and You and Everyone We Know.
That’s our top three - what’s yours?
